Rich Carlson, N9JIG, has been a railfan since the late 1970's and a radio listener since the 1960's. We couldn't be more excited to have Rich on board. He has a great knowledge of the radio systems that we all monitor as he himself helped to institute and manage many in his time. Rich is a highly respected member of the monitoring community who has decades of experience with all types of scanners and communications receivers, antennas, software and accessories. Rich recently retired as a Sergeant for the Winnetka, Illinois, Police Department and is now assisting Scanner Master customers in choosing the right scanner for their area, answering technical questions and helping us to develop new products and services. JScanner Master is extremely proud to announce that Rich Carlson, past-president of the Chicago Area Radio Monitors Association (CARMA) and one of the nation's leading scanner experts, is now part of our team. Object Oriented programming is used for the following scanners: If you have software you can usually read the radio even if a Heap Error is present. (Press 0, then 1, then enter during the startup screen.) While this will erase the radio it will get rid of the dreaded Heap Error. If you don’t have software to program the radio and can’t get into the radio to edit the objects you may well have to reinitialize it and start all over. Also check for duplicates in your list of TGRP’s. If it says “New” for the TSYS then you need to change or delete the TGRP. When programming by hand be sure to associate every TGRP with a TSYS BEFORE saving it. When programming with software sort the TGRP list by TSYS and make sure all are assigned to a TSYS. These radios are hard enough to program manually let alone find orphaned TGRP objects. This is pretty easy to do in ARC500 or other programs but a lot more difficult without software. If you can get into the radio programming you should make sure ALL talkgroups entered as Objects are assigned to a Trunked System. These are caused when the radio doesn’t know how to deal with an Object programmed into the memory, usually a Talkgroup (TGRP) not assigned to a Trunked System (TSYS). On certain Radio Shack, GRE and Whistler scanners, specifically the ones using Object Oriented programming, one can be beset with an error message that reads “ Heap Error” along with some seemingly random text.

This package provides bindings to the standard snappy implementation. The tool comes as a C++ library that is linked into the product that is supposed to use it, but there are several other bindings for it: Haskell, Java, Perl, Python, and Ruby. Description Snappy is a fast compression library written by google and widely used in distributed systems. Snappy is a compression library developed by Google. Snappy compression is designed to be fast and efficient regarding memory usage, making it a good fit for MongoDB workloads. Snappy can be used to benchmark itself against a number of other compression libraries - zlib, LZO, LZF, FastLZ and QuickLZ –, if they are installed on the same machine. By default, MongoDB provides a snappy block compression method for storage and network communication. Snappy originated at Google and is widely used in its internal MapReduce. Google touts Snappy as robust being “designed not to crash in the face of corrupted or malicious input”, and stable after being used to compress petabytes of data in Google’s production environment. LZO and Snappy are both splittable and fast, but do not compress as much as the. import snappy def snappycompress (path): pathtostore path+. This function will compress a file using framed method. There are two ways to compress snappy data - as one block and the other as streaming (or framed) data. The high compression speed is achieved by losing on the compression ratio, the resulting output being 20-100% larger than that of other libraries, Snappy having a compression ratio of “1.5-1.7x for plain text, about 2-4x for HTML, and of course 1.0x for JPEGs, PNGs and other already-compressed data”. You are compressing the plain string, as the compress function takes raw data. Snappy has been optimized for 64-bit x86 processors, on a single core Intel Core i7 processor achieving a compression rate of at least 250MB/s and a decompression one of 500MB/s. Google says the library and its algorithm has been tuned for speed, and not for compression output size nor compatibility with other similar tools. Snappy, previously known as Zippy, is a compression library used by Google in production internally by many projects including BigTable, MapReduce and RPC. It does not aim for maximum compression, or compatibility with any other compression library instead, it aims. For example, Athena can successfully read the data in a table that uses Parquet file format when some Parquet files are compressed with Snappy and other. Google has open sourced Snappy, a compressing/decompressing library that processes data streams at minimum 250MB/s-500MB/s on a single core Intel Core i7 processor. Snappy is a compression/decompression library. These pixel dimensions represent the minimum width and height an image needs in order to be enabled on a certain product. To ensure a good quality print, each of the products offered on the Redbubble marketplace have pixel dimension requirements. Resolution can be a confusing topic, so we’ve provided an introduction to the basics in our blog post Image Resolution and Printing. When you’re printing work, it’s the pixels that matter. There is a major difference between file size, which is measured in bytes (like megabytes MB), and resolution, which is measured in pixels. Now when we say ‘big’, we're really referring to resolution, not the file’s size. TIFF and PDF files won't work correctly.Ī good rule of thumb is that big, high-resolution files make the best prints. When uploading your files, only the following file types are accepted: JPEG, PNG, and GIF. Then, before you upload, convert the finished work into the RGB color profile.Ĭolor profiles are a really tricky topic, so we’ve written up a detailed explanation in the article Designing in CMYK vs RGB on our blog. The CMYK color profile works best for printed designs while RGB works best for viewing designs on a monitor.įor the best of both worlds, you should design your work in the CMYK color profile. The article below will cover everything you need to know about: To make sure your designs are printing well on products, you’ve got to keep Dimensions and Format in mind. But the PS5 remake seems highly plausible given the intent to develop the game on modern consoles and the implied goal of having more people be able to access the game in the future. It’s still unconfirmed whether this means that a Lollipop Chainsaw PS5 remake is planned alongside PC, Xbox Series, and/or Switch versions, or if it will only be available for PS4 and Xbox One. Yasuda is particularly excited to rework the game on current-gen consoles:Īdditionally, since we have access to consoles with higher specifications, we will be taking a more realistic approach to the graphics this time. This is why Yasuda’s Dragami Games purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw IP from Kadokawa Games and “decided to develop a remake.” He regrets that “various factors resulted in things making it so that fans can no longer easily play Lollipop Chainsaw” on current consoles, as the original game was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in June 2012. Remove PowerDirector Watermark on Android FAQs about PowerDirector Watermark Removing Remove Watermark from PowerDirector on PC If you imagine the lines are numbered in the same way as for the hectad, you can count the lines along the bottom of the square until you reach the line forming the left-hand side of the smaller square containing the x and you come to the number 7. To give a more detailed six-figure grid reference, you need to insert a number in the middle of the four-figure grid reference and another one at the end, i.e. The map margins on the 1:25,000 Ordnance Survey maps are further calibrated into 100-metre divisions, which enables you to imagine the square with the x in it split into 100 smaller squares.īelow is an enlargement of the square ST 3575. The two numbers of that line form the last two numbers of the four-figure grid reference. Next, run your eye up the left-hand, or right-hand, side of the map until you reach the line which forms the bottom of the square in which your record was made. The two numbers of that line form the first numerical part of your four-figure grid reference. Keeping your finger on that square, read the Eastings by running your eye from left to right along the bottom, or top, of the map until you come to a line which, if followed up or down towards the site of your record, represents the left-hand side of the square in which your record was made. To give a four-figure grid reference, first find the square in which your record was made. map are the numbers running from left to right along the top and bottom edges of the map and the Northings are the numbers running from bottom to top at each side of the map. If in doubt, check the legend which will show you a small scale diagram of the squares covered. These letters are found in the corners of the map and, if your map covers more than one square, they will also be printed where one square joins the next on the map. The two-letter code on the Ordnance Survey (O.S.) map you are using forms the first part of your grid reference. British grid references consist of two letters and two to ten numbers. A grid reference refers to the bottom left hand corner of the square which contains the record, not the actual site of the record. These squares are divided into hectads of 10 x 10 km and the hectads are further divided into 1 km squares. Britain is covered by a grid of 100 x 100 km squares, each denoted by a two-letter code e.g. Nodules can range in size from very small (pencil-tip) to very large (5 or 6 inches), but the average is in the dime-size range or smaller. If they are located on walls or a vertical surface, they generally “drip” down the plaster surface, somewhat in the shape of an icicle. They are generally round, mound or volcano-shaped, and usually located on fine and sometimes almost invisible cracks in the plaster. Nodules are small white growths of hard calcium mineral deposits. Rebar stains have absolutely nothing to do with water chemistry or the balance of the water. The other option is to cut or chip out the contaminated area, cut out the exposed rebar, and then patch over it. One is to chip out the entire pool, cut out the exposed rebar, and then resurface. Eventually as more rust bleeds through, the black spot gets larger and then you will begin to see an orange rust color appearing in the center of the spot. The rust from the rebar then bleeds upward toward the surface and generally creates a black spot first. If the rebar remains exposed while the new plaster surface is applied, then water will penetrate through the surface after the pool is filled up with water, and begin to rust the rebar. Many times in the process of pouring the shotcrete the rebar may not get fully covered by the cement and remain exposed. This shotcrete is approximately 6 inches thick throughout the pool. This steel rod is used in combination with shotcrete, or gunnite, to create a solid foundation in the beginning stages of building a pool. Rebar is short for reinforcement bar that is used for structural integrity anytime concrete is used. These white spots have absolutely nothing to do with the balance of the water. The pool will have to be completely resurfaced. The time it takes for spotting to appear depends on how weak, soft, and porous these areas are to start with. When pool plaster is properly mixed and properly troweled, a hard, dense (non-porous), homogenous, and durable surface is created that can withstand the fluctuation of water balance for many years. This contrast in color between the random white spotting and the larger gray areas surrounding the spots makes this problem more unsightly. When specific areas of a plaster surface become porous and become carbonated, the spots become lighter (white) in color than the surrounding denser plaster surface.Īnother factor that makes white soft spots become readily visible is due to the overall smooth “graying” of plaster which is caused by the addition of calcium chloride to the plaster mix. This has also been documented by the American Concrete Institute and the Portland Cement Association. The addition of calcium chloride to the plaster mix also contributes to shrinkage and micro-cracking. When water is troweled back into the plaster surface, a watery cement mixture (known as laitance) is created and results in porosity, shrinkage, and micro-cracking. R J Lee also determined that the spots and the surrounding areas had not been etched by aggressive water. These improper practices create a weak, porous, and softened surface in localized areas. The main contributory issues are adding calcium chloride to the plaster mix, applying excessive water onto the plaster surface while troweling, and overly late troweling. The lab determined that improper plastering practices are what cause the spotting problem. Lee Group, studied plaster samples (cores) from pools that had developed the spotting problem. In 1999, a professional cement research lab, R. This problem was given the name of “spot etching” by pool plasterers who (incorrectly) believed aggressive pool water caused the spotting. The smooth, but unsightly white spots generally begin to show up within the first year after plastering. White spotting occasionally develops in new white and dark-colored plaster pools. |
